Write for us
Creative News Analysis welcomes pitches that help readers understand how news accounts are framed, supported and interpreted. Send proposals through the Contact page, with the reason for writing set to editorial question or general, and include enough detail for us to judge the idea without a full draft.
What we welcome
We are interested in clear, original explanations of reporting choices, news language, evidence, context and uncertainty. A strong idea starts with a specific question readers encounter and shows how examining it can make their reading more informed. Pieces should work for a general audience and avoid relying on specialist credentials.
What to include in a pitch
Give us a working title, the central question, your proposed answer or approach, and a brief outline of the key steps. Name any material the piece would rely on and explain what a reader would take away. Tell us whether the idea has been published or offered elsewhere, and disclose any relevant interests.
How to send it
Use the Contact page to send your proposal. Please do not submit confidential material or assume that a pitch has been accepted because it has been received. We may ask for clarification or suggest a narrower angle; an accepted proposal remains subject to editorial review and fact-checking.
A story is more than its headline.
We look at the choices behind news accounts so readers can distinguish what is known, what is argued and what remains open.
